Chelsea set bargain price tag for Wesley Fofana as Barcelona offered£75m star

Wesley Fofana’s time at Chelsea has been one of failure. A big-money signing during BlueCo’s first summer at Stamford Bridge, he could now leave for Barcelona at a massive loss.

The 25-year-old joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022, presented as a signal of intent by BlueCo after spending £75m to lure him to West London from Leicester City. Injury and form have derailed his stint.

Fofana has managed just 68 appearances for Chelsea, as he approaches four years at the club. Recently, fans have been disappointed with Fofana, and Calum McFarlane has dropped him in both of his games.

Fans were not impressed with Fofana after being spotted having a laugh with Ousmane Dembele after the home defeat to PSG. Ultimately, Fofana seems to be pushing for an exit, and now, Barcelona are in talks.

The 25-year-old is said to be keen on a move to the Nou Camp, with Barcelona now in talks with Fofana’s agents. Chelsea are said to be open to a sale, but they will only sell Fofana if their price tag is met.

However, Chelsea’s price tag seems to be very reasonable from a Barcelona point of view. Indeed, the Blues are said to be willing to sell Fofana for as little as £26m, almost £50m below their initial outlay.

Fofana is not the only Chelsea player linked with Barcelona

Everyone knows how closely Marc Cucurella flirted with Barcelona during the March international break. While he has been criticised for his comments, if his boyhood club come calling, Cucurella will leave.

Then there is Joao Pedro. Former Chelsea star Deco is sporting director at Barcelona, and the Portuguese icon is said to rate Pedro highly. Some reports even suggest Barca want Pedro over Julian Alvarez.

Then, Pedro Neto has also been touted with a move to Barcelona after a difficult season with Chelsea. Four players linked with Barcelona; it is becoming easy to imagine some business between the two clubs.
