Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are investigating fights which broke out between Liverpool and Manchester United fans after last weekend's Premier League match. Footage shared widely online and seen by the ECHO shows one brawl outside the official club store at Old Trafford on Sunday, May 3.

Several punches are thrown between the two sets of fans. One man, believed to be a Liverpool supporter, can be seen on the floor outside the club shop after the altercation, with Manchester United staff quickly surrounding the man. A separate incident appears to show a group of Manchester United supporters confronting a coach carrying Liverpool fans on Trafford Road after leaving the stadium.

Several clips show the chaotic brawl spilling out into the road with punches and kicks being thrown. It has not been confirmed what sparked the two incidents at this stage.

When approached by the ECHO, a spokesperson for GMP confirmed it had received a report about both incidents. Enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened, they added.

Manchester United were approached for comment.

Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 in the game. In a dramatic encounter, United raced into a two goal lead inside the first 14 minutes before Liverpool responded with two goals of their own in the second half. United won the match thanks to a strike from Kobbie Mainoo in the 77th minute.

The result leaves the Red Devils in third place and the Reds in fourth. Both are set to qualify for next season's Champions League as it stands.
