Liverpool transfer target David Raum is “tempted” by the possibility of moving to the Premier League, according to reports in Germany.

Sport Bild (via Bulinews) claim that the future of the RB Leipzig captain remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.

Raum has not signed a new deal, and if he doesn’t put pen to paper over the next few months, a sale is likely before the end of the summer transfer window.

The German international has had an outstanding season for Leipzig, scoring 3 goals and providing 8 assists in 33 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

Raum has been scouted by Premier League teams

It was reported last month that Liverpool and Manchester United have been sending scouts to keep an eye on the 28-year-old.

Both sides are hoping to strengthen their options at left-back. Arne Slot’s side will lose Andrew Robertson on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of June.

United, meanwhile, will release Tyrell Malacia, and they are hoping to bring in more competition for Luke Shaw.

Are Liverpool targeting any other fullbacks?

Raum is the only left-back for whom there have been credible links to. Some right-backs have been mentioned, including Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries and Barcelona’s Jules Kounde.

Both positions could do with reinforcements. Robertson’s departure makes the left side a more pressing issue, but there are problems on the right too.

Jeremie Frimpong seems ill-suited to a back four, while Conor Bradley’s ongoing injury problems mean that Slot has been forced into selecting the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones out of position. That is something that has to be addressed before the start of next campaign.
