Mo Salah names 3 Liverpool players ‘who we wouldn’t have won anything without’

Mohamed Salah has named three players who he feels deserves more credit at Liverpool, saying silverware wouldn’t have been possible without them.

While Salah’s farewell tour on the pitch has been stalled by a hamstring injury, he has been doing the rounds for international broadcasters.

Steven Gerrard was among those to recently sit down with the Egyptian, and his round of quickfire questions with TNT Sports led to some interesting answers from Liverpool’s No. 11.

The best game you’ve played in for Liverpool?

Salah: “Two games. Roma home, Man United away when I scored a hat-trick.”

Hardest defender that you’ve played against?

Salah: “Oh, there is too many.

“There is too many, but I always feel like in my head I will find a way to score, I will find a way to make a difference in the game. But I can’t say just one.”

Teammate who you played with who deserves more credit?

Salah: “I think people don’t know how good Alexander-Arnold is, but I think he gets a lot of credit.

“But I would say, Gini Wijnaldum, and Milly and Hendo. These guys are just… without them we wouldn’t win anything!

“Like how we play in front… without these guys we would not win anything.”

Biggest achievement? Would it be the Premier League last year?

Salah: “Premier League last year.”

Gerrard: “Over the Champions League, yeah?”

Salah: “The Premier League last year.”

The praise for Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner comes not long after Jurgen Klopp eulogised over the influence of his midfield trio on the That Peter Crouch podcast.

“They were versatile, they could play different positions. They could fill in at right or left-back. They could fill in on the wing,” Klopp said.

“To develop, you need stability and they gave us the stability. All of the midfielders gave us stability…then you can be crazy around.”

While they were often criticised at the time for their lack of goals and creativity, they provided the platform for Salah, Sadio Mane, Bobby Firmino and Co. to thrive.
