Liverpool will finish inside the Champions League places this season and then a big summer awaits. Challenging Manchester City and Arsenal next year will be the aim.
After a tough few months under Arne Slot, that might feel far away. Get it right in the upcoming window, though, and get slightly luckier with injuries, and things could improve quickly for Liverpool, though that will hinge on having a positive close-season both in the transfer market and on the training pitch.
Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah are leaving without bringing in a transfer fee, but there could be a decision to make regarding another major player with lots of experience too.

Alisson has interest from Juventus and while he is under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2027 after a recent extension to his deal, links with an exit for the Brazilian are not going anywhere.
Curtis Jones, in some ways, is in a similar situation. He drew interest from Inter Milan and others in January, and though it is understood that Liverpool had no intention of letting him leave back then, at which time it was already short of options, that could change this summer.
So far, there has been no sign of a breakthrough in contract negotiations. Given that Jones will have a year left on his deal when the season ends, not selling would mean risking losing him for nothing 12 months later.

Alexis Mac Allister, too, is someone who has not had talks held with them yet regarding an extension. The Argentine will be 29 by the time his existing contract expires and he has struggled at times this term.
Ryan Gravenberch has already been tied down and talks are ongoing with Dominik Szoboszlai.
Mac Allister, though, is the lowest priority of the trio for understandable reasons, with The Times this week putting him forward as a candidate to be sold.
Ibrahima Konate told reporters recently that a new contract was very close to being signed to keep him at Anfield. His current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, so that has been left late.

But while the Frenchman was positive that a breakthrough was set to be made, nothing has been confirmed yet. Assuming it does get done, Konate will remain the number one pick alongside Virgil van Dijk, with Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet in reserve.
Then, there are the likes of Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo, whose roles have been very limited. Should interest firm up in someone like that, they would be forgiven for wanting to leave to play more regularly.
Already known to be losing at least two players, Liverpool could do with more strength in depth next term rather than losing bodies.

Not to the extent of last summer, but there could be several changes to the Reds' roster as a result. They simply cannot afford to leave themselves light.
