'As we did with Isak' - The unanimous response to Anthony Gordon's future at Newcastle United

Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has been linked with Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

That’s the verdict of our NewcastleWorld readers as speculation continues to surround the England international’s future.

Bayern Munich have held talks with Gordon’s representatives and, according to Sky Sport Germany, are prepared to offer the winger a five-year contract.

That report came after Will Salthouse and Adam Dugdale, who represent Gordon at Unique Sports agency, were captured at Barcelona’s training ground by Spanish newspaper Diario Sport.

The 25-year-old is under contract at St James’ Park until June 2030 after he penned an extension in October 2024, putting the Magpies in a strong position to command a significant transfer fee.

Newcastle paid £45million to sign Gordon from Everton in January 2023 and are likely to value the player near double that, which is a stumbling block for teams on the continent

CEO David Hopkinson hinted at sales this summer, but only on the club’s terms.

Some even cited Alexander Isak’s decision to go on strike and force his £130million British record transfer to Liverpool as a case in point.

Should Newcastle United sell Anthony Gordon?

Stephen Close: “Let him go if he wants to leave.”

Karen Quinn: “Yes. He’s only ever seen us as a stepping stone and there are players I’d rather keep.”

Janice Mcpherson Reed: “If he wants to leave let him go. Keeping him he wouldn’t give 100% to the club.”

Michael Chambers: “Yes. He wants to go easy to see in his body language.”

Adam Stevens: “AG10 is quality but if he wants out let’s not make the same mistake as we did with Isak.”

Steve Rowe: “Yes, as he obviously thinks he’s massive and if he wanted to stay why let agents go club hunting.”

Andrew Priest: “Yes if we get right price Isak was good business so let him go if he thinks he is better with another club.”

David Pye: “Yes get rid of him if he doesn’t want to be there but on Newcastle's terms.”
