Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has been told why he would flourish in Italy should he opt to leave Anfield this summer. Jones' future with the Reds has been a topic of speculation ever since the January transfer window, and the rumours show no signs of slowing down as the summer window draws closer.
The turn of the year brought reports that Inter Milan were supposedly keen on signing Jones on loan until the end of the campaign, with talk that the move could have been turned into a permanent switch. Jones is contracted to Liverpool until 2027, meaning he will soon be entering the final year of his contract at Anfield.
Consequently, speculation persists that Jones could depart this summer, with Italy continuing to be mooted as a possible destination. Former Inter forward Antonio Cassano has outlined why he thinks Jones would thrive if he was to swap Liverpool for the Serie A giants.
Cassano also suggested he would anticipate Jones being "better" than ex-Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, who left Old Trafford for Napoli almost two years ago. McTominay has prospered since making the move.
"Curtis Jones for Inter? He would be an excellent signing, he's a pacey midfielder, he's a Champions League-oriented player," Cassano is quoted as saying on Viva El Futbol.
"He'd be better than McTominay. He has great quality and at Liverpool he won a lot playing, unlike [Cristian] Zaccardo and [Andrea] Barzagli who are World Champions but never played."

What lies ahead for Jones at Liverpool remains uncertain, with no indication of a potential contract extension for the academy graduate. Liverpool are already bracing themselves for the departure of at least two first-team regulars this summer, with Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson leaving when the season draws to a close.
Speculation surrounding Alisson Becker's future at the club also refuses to go away, with Juventus reportedly keeping a close eye on the Brazilian.
Jones has been an integral figure for Liverpool under Arne Slot over the past two seasons, clocking up 46 appearances this campaign, yet he is still waiting for his first Premier League goal. Both of the midfielder's strikes for the Reds this season came during FA Cup triumphs over Brighton and Wolves earlier in the year.
