Chef’s Lawsuit Backfires as Stefon Diggs Found Not Guilty on All Counts

Stefon Diggs has been facing a tough time since the 2025 season ended. He was released by the New England Patriots after the franchise lost the Super Bowl game to the Seattle Seahawks. He also had a high-profile breakup with singer Cardi B.

Diggs has been facing a legal case after he was accused of assault by his former domestic chef. It has been finally resolved after many months of legal proceedings.

Stefon Diggs found not guilty

Diggs had been facing assault allegations from his domestic chef, which stemmed from an alleged incident at his home on December 2, 2025. The chef named Jamila “Mila” Adams was a live-in private chef for the wide receiver. She accused him of slapping her with an open hand and choking her with his arm around her neck during a dispute over unpaid wages.

Diggs was facing charges of felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges in a Massachusetts district court. After a two-day trial in Dedham District Court which involved approximately 90 minutes of jury deliberation, the court found him not guilty on all of the charges.

The 32-year-old has previously pleaded not guilty in February. His defense attorney argued that the alleged assault “never happened” and challenged Adams’ credibility. Adams was not found to have any medical records to document any of the injuries she allegedly suffered, while also being accused of demanding $5.5 million three weeks before the trial for her cooperation.

Ultimately it was found that other than her own testimony, there was no proof that her allegations against Diggs were true. The 4-time Pro Bowler can now rest easier with the legal case finally over after months. The chef also revealed more information of her relationship with the player.

Stefon Diggs was intimate with her, claims chef

According to TMZ, Adams revealed during her testimony that she was first approached by Diggs more than four years ago. He sent her a message on Instagram to ask her to be his chef.

She then said that while they were friends at first, it became sexual after some time. She was offered a job in February 2025, and was paid $2,000 a week to live and cook at his home.

Adams claimed that she was focused on getting Diggs healthy and recover to get back on the field, and lived there from July until December. Diggs did not confirm whether their relationship was of a sexual nature.

Stefon Diggs is still without a franchise ahead of the 2026 NFL season, but will be happy to get the legal win.
