Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a rough go of things in 2025. Not only did the Chiefs fail to make the playoffs for the first time in his career, but his season was cut short by an ACL injury he suffered near the end of the campaign.
As it turns out, he wasn’t the only one in the Mahomes clan having a rough go of things.
On Tuesday, Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, revealed on her Instagram story that she was diagnosed with De Quervain tenosynovitis.
“To find out I have this,” she wrote. “Been battling it for probably around a year now, thinking it will just get better. Well, it never did and started to get pretty bad.”
This isn’t the first time she’s had to deal with extenuating health circumstances, either. In March 2024, she revealed that she injured her back.
“Just a daily reminder. Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor. Seriously,” she wrote on social media, signing the warning: “From: A girl with a fractured back.”
“I think people don’t even realize how much she does,” in an appearance on the “Impaulsive” podcast in 2024, Patrick revealed how much his wife means to him, meaning this must be an especially challenging period for him as well.
“I mean, taking care of the day-to-day stuff and make it where I can focus on football and focus on my craft and everything like that. [She’s] a Hall of Fame mom and a Hall of Fame wife, [which] makes it a lot easier.”
Hopefully, everyone in the Mahomes family can make a swift and full recovery.
