Taylor will miss the clash with a one-match ban after being sent off in the closing stages of the Shrimpers’ play-off defeat at Scunthorpe United.

And Maher felt Taylor did not deserve to be red-carded.
“We’re devastated for Harry because he’s been one of our most consistent players again this season and it was an unnecessary booking as well,” said Maher.
“From speaking to the PGMOL they said it didn’t need to be a yellow.
“That’s the frustrating thing because it needed to be managed much better than it was.
“He didn’t need to send him off for a second yellow.
“He could’ve had a word with both players and get on with the game.”
Taylor has made 51 starts for the Shrimpers this season, more than any other player.
