The Pittsburgh Steelers are having typical problems with Aaron Rodgers. And one NFL insider is tired of it. Another insider pulled back the curtain on the Steelers QB room amid the Rodgers saga, according to a post on Twitter by NFL on ESPN.
“They’re moving forward with what they have in the quarterback room right now,” Brooke Pryor said. “We have rookie mini-camp coming up this week, and that’s the first time we’ll see Drew Allar on the field. We know Will Howard was taking the first-team reps at their voluntary mini-camp.
“Does that mean Will Howard is QB1? No, it means they’re trying to get a look at him.”
What does it mean for QB Aaron Rodgers?
The Steelers are trying to get things done. But they face an uphill battle against the often aloof and mercurial Rodgers.
“Putting the UFA tender on Rodgers means he can still sign anywhere else between now and the start of training camp,” Pryor said. “They get a comp pick if he does. Once training camp starts, he can only sign with the Steelers. The thing about Aaron Rodgers is that you never know what he is going to do.”

However, Rodgers may not have as many options as some people think. That includes the Cardinals, who aren’t on the radar, according to a post on X by Josh Weinfuss.
“I asked a source today if all the noise about Aaron Rodgers going to the Cardinals was real? ‘Not at all’ was the response. So, there’s that.”
And Cardinals head coach Matt LaFleur further shot it down, according to the Jim Rome Show via CBS Sports.
“Honestly, right now, we're focused on the guys that we've got coming in,” LaFleur said. “We've got the unit that we have — Gardner (Minshew), Jacoby (Brissett), and (Kedan) Slovis — and then we drafted Carson Beck in the third round. We've got a room we are excited to work with, and that's solely where my focus is.”
