After the astonishing first leg in Paris a week ago that saw the European champions triumph by the odd goal in nine, this was a more measured but no less fascinating affair, Ousmane Dembele’s goal in the third minute giving the visitors a two-goal advantage in the tie.
At that stage it looked like another explosive night of attacking fluidity was in store, but Bayern could not rediscover the threat that saw them reel PSG in from 5-2 to 5-4 at the Parc des Princes.
Harry Kane scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to set up a nervous finale, but Bayern had left themselves insufficient time to seriously unsettle the visitors.
Luis Enrique’s side had been the team that had looked likeliest to add to their tally and put the semi-final beyond all doubt, Manuel Neuer performing heroics to just about keep Bayern’s hopes alive until the end.
In the end, the holders needed nothing further in order to book their place alongside Mikel Arteta’s side in Budapest on May 30.

Declan Rice has called on 200,000 fans to descend on Budapest and carry Arsenal to an historic first Champions League title.
Bukayo Saka delivered the decisive goal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night as Arsenal secured a 2-1 aggregate triumph over Atletico Madrid to reach the showpiece in the Hungarian capital on May 30 – their first on Europe’s grandest stage for 20 years.
Following Manchester City’s 3-3 draw at Everton on Monday – which puts the Premier League title race in Arsenal’s hands – and their triumph over Atleti just 24 hours later, Mikel Arteta’s men are now only four matches away from completing the greatest campaign in the club’s 140-year history.
And although Arsenal have received an official allocation of just 16,824 tickets from UEFA for the final at the 67,000-capacity Puskas Arena, Rice wants Budapest to be a sea of red for the fixture against either Bayern Munich or Paris St Germain.
He said: “Bring it on, bring it on, I’ll be ready. I want every Arsenal fan out there, 200,000 of you, come out. Let’s try and do it because we’re going to need all the support, all the energy and let’s make it special.”

Manchester City were crowned Women’s Super League champions for the first time since 2016 after Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at Brighton.
Third-placed Arsenal were eager to bounce back from Saturday’s Champions League exit to Lyon and keep the title race alive in the first of three matches in hand on City.
Arsenal and boss Renee Slegers were well aware only victory at Brighton would be enough and despite Frida Maanum’s 62nd-minute strike being able to cancel out Fuka Tsunoda’s first-half opener for Brighton, the visitors could not find a winner and it ensured City were able to celebrate silverware in their first season under boss Andree Jeglertz.
After Caitlin Foord and Alesso Russo squandered first-half chances, Brighton stunned the visitors in the 43rd-minute when (Fuka) Tsunoda beat Victoria Pelova to the ball and drilled beyond Daphne van Domselaar via a deflection.
Maanum had penalty appeals waved away soon after before the leveller arrived with 62 minutes played.
Russo brilliantly spun away and played into Maanum, who composed herself and slotted into the bottom corner, but Arsenal had to settle for a 1-1 draw which signalled the end of their title challenge and Chelsea’s run of six consecutive league championships on a special night for City.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has again defended high ticket prices for this summer’s World Cup and insisted it is more expensive to attend a college game in the United States.
During an appearance at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, Infantino addressed the criticism directed at the world governing body over the prices set for the tournament and the adoption of dynamic pricing.
Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and Euroconsumers have already lodged complaints with the European Commission after it emerged fans who are part of national-team travel clubs and loyalty schemes were given an initial cheapest ticket for the final of more than £3,000.
“If some people put on the resale market some tickets for the final at $2million dollars, number one it doesn’t mean that the tickets cost $2m dollars and number two it doesn’t mean that somebody will buy these tickets,” Infantino explained.
“And if somebody buys a ticket for the final for $2m dollars, I will personally bring a hot dog and a Coke to make sure that he has a great experience!
“We are in the market in which entertainment is the most developed in the world, so we have to apply market rates.”
