Newcastle United transfers: Anthony Gordon could be on the move from Newcastle United this summer.
Anthony Gordon has already expressed his fondness for playing in Europe after flourishing in the Champions League with Newcastle United this season.
Gordon’s 10 Champions League goals for the Magpies this season have only been bettered by Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.
It’s also a contrast to his Premier League goal return, in which he has only scored six goals - three of which have been penalties.

Anthony Gordon linked with NUFC exit
The England international has been linked with a move away from Newcastle heading into the summer transfer window. Liverpool has a long-standing interest in the former Everton man while Arsenal have also been linked.
Bayern Munich and Barcelona have also been credited with an interest in Gordon, with his representatives spotted meeting with Barca sporting director Deco earlier this week.
And based on Gordon’s comments about playing in Europe compared to the Premier League, he has already dropped a hint regarding his preference.
“I think in the Champions League, teams are much more open,” Gordon said ahead of Newcastle’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain back in January. “They all try to play; it’s less transitional.
“I think, in the Premier League, it’s become more physical than I’ve ever known it to be. It’s like a basketball game sometimes; it’s so relentless physically.”
Anthony Gordon on European football
While Gordon has previously flourished in the Premier League, he has praised the ‘proper football’ played by top European clubs.
“There is not much control [in the Premier League], it’s a running game, and sometimes it’s about duels: who wins the duels, wins the game,” he added.
“The Champions League is a bit more of an older style of game; it’s a bit more football-based. Teams come and try to play proper football.
“In the Premier League now, you have seen a lot more long throw-ins and set-pieces. It’s become a lot slower and a lot more set-piece-based, I would say.”
Gordon is under contract at Newcastle until June 2030 and will command a significant transfer fee from the club. Barcelona reportedly won’t consider the £80million valuation placed on the player, which could also prove a bit steep for Bayern as well.
But Premier League clubs would have the financial resources to make such a deal happen at that price, it’s just a case of whether Newcastle are willing to do business.
