Chelsea have been told by Anthony Gordon’s representatives that he is not interested in a move to Stamford Bridge, and the club’s likely next steps have now been revealed.
Chelsea are reportedly pushing to sign a new left winger after the woeful start to life at the club for Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho is already being linked with an exit from the club, and has frequently been the source of outrage from supporters inside the stadium when he plays.

Chelsea rejected by Anthony Gordon
Behdad Eghbali has stated that Chelsea are going to tweak their transfer policy after making mistakes in previous years, with Premier League experience top of their agenda for new signings.
This has led them to a meeting with Anthony Gordon after reports of a potential exit from Newcastle United, although Simon Phillips has stated he has initially rejected the Blues.

He said: “SPTC Sources can confirm that Chelsea met with Gordon’s reps on Saturday just passed, to discuss a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
“However, after initial conversations, Gordon’s reps informed Chelsea that the player was not keen on joining them. Whether Chelsea will come back again and try to convince him with a bigger wage offer or not remains to be seen. But Gordon knows he has serious interest from clubs like Bayern Munich, so he knows he has wide choices to pick the right club.
Phillips goes on to say that the plan is likely going to be to return to the winger when they have a new manager in place ahead of next season.
He added: “Chelsea are likely to try again for Gordon and offer him a prominent first team role and a starting spot in the team. They might also go back to him when the new manager is in place as a possible selling point. But so far, Gordon has rejected Chelsea’s initial advances.”

Chelsea missed out on Gordon four years ago
Interest in the England international is not a new thing from the club, with them aware of his talents before he even joined Newcastle.
Gordon told Everton in 2022 that he wanted to join Chelsea, although a deal was never reached between the two sides.
Frank Lampard was in charge of the Toffees at the time, and played a key role in keeping him at the club despite interest from Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
There is a thought that Lampard could be the manager who convinces Gordon to join Chelsea, or vice versa if the Blues confirmed the signing of Gordon.
