Arsenal are keen on signing AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claimed last week that Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool were keeping an eye on the Portuguese international’s situation.

However, the same newspaper has now named the Gunners as another team who could make a move for Leao at the end of the season.

Milan are said to be “prepared to sell” the 26-year-old, who has spent the last seven seasons at the San Siro.

Leao’s asking price has been set

The winger still has two years left on his contract, which includes a release clause that is reportedly worth €150m (£130m).

However, it is believed that Milan would be willing to part ways with Leao for less than half that amount. A fee between £50m and £60m is likely to be accepted for the player if such a bid is lodged during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are looking to replace Martinelli

The BBC has confirmed that the Gunners are looking to offload up to five first-team players this summer in order to balance the books.

Among the names who is set to leave the Emirates is Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian has struggled for consistency over the last three years, and there is now an expectation that the club will look to cash in.

Some will argue that Leao would not be much of an upgrade. The Portuguese winger has similar issues with his form. He may have scored 10 times in 29 appearances this campaign, but he is currently on a barren run in front of goal that stretches back to the beginning of March, when he found the back of the net during a 2-0 win over Cremonese.
