Liverpool have now made contact to sign Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso this summer as a replacement for the outgoing Andy Robertson.

Robertson's time at Anfield is set to come to an end this summer, upon the expiration of his contract, but Arne Slot has made it clear he remains a big fan of the left-back both on and off the pitch.
The Dutchman said: "First of all, he had many great seasons here as a player, but I think people got to know him as a great person as well. I got to know him as a great person. I think every teammate of his will tell you how funny he is and how great of a person he is. I think that has been shown a lot on social media as well from our social media people.
"[He] won everything over here, served this club for so many years, really loves this club and it's been a great nine years for him at the club."
Upon Robertson's departure, Slot will be lacking a back-up option for Milos Kerkez, which means it will be important to bring in a new left-back at the end of the season, and the Reds are now keen on signing Juventus star Cambiaso.
That is according to reports from Italy (via Sport Witness), which state Liverpool have now made contact about a deal for the Italian, who will be valued at €40m - €50m (£35m - £43m) if Juventus manage to qualify for the Champions League.
A number of Europe's top clubs are showing considerable interest in the full-back, including Manchester City, Barcelona, AC Milan and Inter Milan, but the Old Lady remain in a strong negotiating position, as he is under contract until 2029.
