Calm down!
Too much information!
Joe knows Bucs fans have been riding a wave of euphoria since the Bucs lucked into the Miami Mauler, Rueben Bain in the first round of the draft.
The way Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht has stated in several interviews and media appearances in the wake of the draft how he never gave serious thought to Bain being on the board at No. 15 because he thought the idea was so far-fetched.
And guess what happened? It seems, Licht may have gotten a little too excited. And Licht was a tad descriptive about this when he appeared on Pat McAfee’s show this week, seen on YouTube and BSPN.
“When he walked out there and snatched that hat, I got to tell you that was a six-to-midnight moment,” Licht said.
OH! Take it easy Jason. Calm down. Have a beer.
Joe is a big believer one cannot have enough information, but even that philosophy can go a bit overboard. Get a hold of yourself man!
(For those who are unaware of the slang “six-to-midnight,” all Joe can type is, Google is your friend. Joe runs a family-friendly site here.)
Licht also raved about Miami coach Mario Cristobal, who played for The U in their glory days and Licht said Cristobal has The U back.
Back when Licht played for Nebraska, only three teams ever stood in the Cornhuskers’ way of a national title: Oklahoma, Florida State and Miami. Nebraska and Miami had some legendary games.
Licht remembered how The U was and now once again is full of dawgs and that’s the type of players he was looking for this offseason. Licht added Cristobal now has Miami with the same type of players that put The U on the college football map years ago.
And Licht noted Keionte Scott and Bain are the types of players he covets: Physical and tough who leave it all on the field and never settle for anything less than success.
"Coach Cristobal has done an amazing job restoring that Miami program..
