Over the last couple of years, New York Giants legend Eli Manning has enjoyed retirement, but he is retired, and fans shouldn't expect that to change anytime soon.
Amid the rumors surrounding Odell Beckham Jr.'s return to the Giants, fans have been waiting for a contract to be signed. One Giants fan account posted a video of Beckham's long touchdown catch against the New England Patriots in 2015 on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption, “All these Giants signings have been great and all but there’s still one final piece missing…”
Manning then stepped in, presuming he was the “final piece.” He replied, “Guys, I’m not coming back to play! Stop asking,” to the post.

In all fairness, he threw a beautiful pass on that play. It resulted in an 87-yard touchdown reception. Manning finished that game with 361 yards and two touchdowns.

It's unlikely Manning is ever going to come out of retirement to play football again. For one, he is now 45 years old and over a half-decade removed from his playing days.
Plus, the Giants seemingly have their franchise quarterback in another Ole Miss alum, Jaxson Dart. Dart has taken the reins as the Giants' starting quarterback heading into his second season, and the team is being built around him.
Manning retired as a two-time Super Bowl MVP and four-time Pro Bowler. His other accolades include being named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2016 and being inducted into the Giants' Ring of Honor. His jersey number was also retired by the team.
He played his entire career with the Giants from 2004 to 2019. Manning retired after the 2019 season, leaving the team to Daniel Jones, who has since become a star with the Indianapolis Colts.
