Seahawks News 5/7: When will Seahawks extend Devon Witherspoon?

This offseason feels so strangely serene. Last season was the best Seahawks team I’ve ever watched. Yes, even better than 2013 (and the advanced metrics back it up). They were clearly better than every team they faced last year except LAR.

It’s with that in mind that I’ve been considering the 2026 roster in relation to 2025. I’m assuming that experience is good (especially year 1->2 and year 2->3), over 30 or 32 is bad, injury situations are only what we know, and that there’s no behind the scenes drama.

TLDR; I think they project to be the same or better at every position except RB and CB.

Offense:

QB: Better.

RB: Worse, unless/until Charbonnet is back to form. I expect Price > Walker, but Wilson and/or Holani aren’t as good as Charbonnet.

WR: Push. Horton should improve, and Shaheed should be more involved. Kupp is aging.

FB: Better if Ouzts is healthy.

TE: Better.

OL: Better.

Defense:

DL: Better unless Leo’s age catches up to him.

Edge: Better. Fowler > Mafe. The main risk is DLaw’s age.

LB: Better.

S: Better.

I wasn’t particularly impressed by Bryant last year.

Love hopefully misses fewer (no?) games.

Okada started 11 games last year, so at worse S is a push for 11 games this year.

I’m high on Clark actually beating Okada (and maybe being better than Bryant).

J: Better as EMan with another season to learn all 4 roles.

CB: Worse.

For all his flaws, Woolen would put up 55 great minutes in a lot of games.

Jobe and Spoon are near finished products, but I’m worried about Jobe’s injury history.

We’re counting on pick #99 being really good immediately or Pritchett/Igby making a big jump.

Teams:
