The Dallas Cowboys rounded out their 2025-26 season with a 7-9 record and no trip to the postseason. It wasn’t an embarrassing showing, but it also didn’t represent what this team can really do on the field.
But, head of the 2026-27 season, the good news is that the Cowboys’ offense is looking absolutely stellar. Jerry Jones and the team have a stacked lineup.
In a piece out on Wednesday, May 6 for Fox Sports, Ben Arthur lists the strongest offenses in the NFL right now.
“There’s still a long way to go before we see real football again,” he states in the piece. “But with the NFL Draft in the books and the majority of the top-tier free agents signed, teams know what the core of their squads will look like in 2026.”
Arthur puts the Cowboys’ offense at No. 2.
“The Cowboys return 10 starters from an offense that ranked second in yards and seventh in points in 2025,” he states. “Franchise-tagged star receiver George Pickens will be in his second year in the offense, which could make him even more difficult to account for as CeeDee Lamb's running mate.”
He adds: “And with a more competent defense on paper, Dallas' offense could see more possessions per game in 2026.”
My Analysis: Dallas Cowboys’ Offense Going Into 2026-27 Season
It’s quite a statement to say that a team that didn’t make it to the playoffs has the No. 2 best offense in the league overnight, but it’s not a stretch. This team’s offense is spearheaded by Dak Prescott, who’s one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the league, in my opinion.
Now, the Cowboys have enhanced their already strong offensive lineup, and they should really deliver in 2026. With all of this talent, it’s difficult to see a scenario where the Cowboys tank in 2026-27, but making sure defense is strong is key and, of course, that players on both sides stay healthy.
