The New York Giants hired John Harbaugh as the new head coach this offseason. The Giants wanted him badly and made the full court press to hire him. New York is looking for a winning culture again after being bad for the last three seasons.

Harbaugh had much success with the Baltimore Ravens in 18 seasons. It is a fresh start for him in his coaching career. It will no doubt be a challenge. The Giants were 4-13 last season. They have not won the NFC East title since 2011. Could this be the season where New York goes from worst to first in the NFC East?

Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports wrote about why each NFL team, and its fanbase should be looking forward toward the 2026 NFL season. He said about why the Giants should be excited,
“Winning culture back in the Big Apple
After nine straight losing seasons, the Giants needed drastic changes, especially in culture. That’s exactly what they have in John Harbaugh, who is determined to quickly bring the Giants back to championship contention.
With Harbaugh heavily involved, the Giants added a slew of proven veterans during free agency, including several former Ravens. In addition to improving the defense, Harbaugh also improved the situation for Jaxson Dart by adding several new pass-catchers and restocking the offensive line with first-round pick Francis Mauigoa and veterans Lucas Patrick and Daniel Faalele.”
Some players followed Harbaugh from Baltimore to New York. Tight end Isaiah Likely, punter Jordan Stout, and fullback Pat Ricard all came over from the Ravens to be on the Giants. Those players know what it is like to be inside a Harbaugh locker room. New York will need to win these games at the line of scrimmage. If the defense bounces back and if Jaxson Dart stays of the blue medical tent this season, then the Giants might be a playoff team in 2026 also.
