‘“Horrible QB”’ — NFL Fans Troll Justin Herbert After Chargers Star Appears in Madison Beer’s…

The Los Angeles Chargers spent the offseason rebuilding around Justin Herbert after another playoff disappointment. Jim Harbaugh’s group added depth in the NFL Draft and expects the quarterback to take another leap in 2026.

Away from football, Herbert suddenly found himself at the center of a very different conversation. A brief teaser clip this week sent NFL fans racing online.

Beer confirmed the full music video will release on Friday alongside her “locket deluxe” album. The deluxe edition includes 15 tracks, with “lovergirl” among the unreleased songs. Reports noted that the couple was first publicly linked in Aug. 2025, after Herbert was spotted on the set of one of Beer’s shoots.

The March post added fuel to the growing public attention around the relationship. Herbert and Beer had largely stayed private throughout most of the 2025 season before appearing together more frequently this offseason.

The timing also comes as Herbert enters a pivotal year with the Chargers. The former Oregon standout threw for 3,727 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2025 while completing 66.4% of his passes. Harbaugh’s roster overhaul has created legitimate expectations inside the AFC West.

Herbert is also tied to one of the NFL’s richest quarterback deals. The signal-caller signed a five-year, $262.5 million extension in 2023. That contract raised expectations around postseason success after the Chargers managed only one playoff victory during Herbert’s tenure.

Former NFL lineman Willie Colon recently predicted on NFL Network that Herbert could emerge as an MVP contender in 2026 if the Chargers stay healthy up front. Organized team activities begin May 26, with a mandatory minicamp scheduled for June 16-18.

NFL fans wasted little time turning Herbert’s cameo into a social media debate. One usercommented,

“Horrible QB,”

Another fanwrote,

“Still a loser.”

Others focused more on the timing than the relationship itself. One commenterjoked,

“oh boy, he’s gonna suck next season isnt he.”

Not everyone treated the moment seriously. Another appreciated the clip, saying,

“Happy ,Horney young lovers …what a life.”

Others were not as convinced, with onewriting,

“Absolutely horrible… that’s a definite gong hit!!”

The reactions reflected the pressure surrounding Herbert as he entered another season with championship expectations attached to him and the Chargers franchise.
