Liverpool have emerged as a shock contender to sign Kylian Mbappe amid Real Madrid’s ongoing instability.
Real Madrid first displayed signs of instability with their bemusing decision to sack Xabi Alonso, but with each passing month, Los Blancos appear to be rudderless.
They have long since relied on the talent of their Galacticos to compete and succeed on the biggest stage, but there appears to be an imbalance in the egos and mindset of their current squad.
Being eliminated from the Champions League by Bayern Munich came as a major blow while their struggles in La Liga have been much publicised.
It now appears as though there is a slim chance that Mbappe could leave the club despite waiting so long to move to the Bernabeu, with Liverpool shockingly linked as his next destination.

Liverpool express interest in signing Mbappe
While it may just be a sign that ‘silly season’ has arrived early with the summer transfer window set to open soon.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have expressed an interest in signing Mbappe.
Marca and Football Espana have reported that Mbappe’s attitude has caused rifts in the Madrid squad, although this would make him an awful fit for Liverpool, who have long since been famous for their intolerance for troublemakers.
Other Spanish outlets have reported that Liverpool have made contact with Madrid to enquire about signing the Frenchman, describing the Madrid setup as a “dressing room fractured after the failure” of the 2025-26 season.
On Merseyside interest, it is reported: “Amid this situation,Liverpool have begun to show interest in the player. The Anfield club have already expressed interest in the past and are now exploring the possibility of signing him again.
“The English club is looking to bolster its squad with a high-profile signing, and Mbappé fits the bill perfectly. His arrival would represent an immediate leap in quality and a major coup in the transfer market.
“The current context could facilitate a negotiation that once seemed impossible. However, the operation remains complex due to multiple factors, including the financial cost and the player’s contractual situation.”
