With this legal hurdle out of the way, Diggs is putting his focus back in the NFL. He is currently an unrestricted free agent after being released by the Patriots due to salary cap reasons. The 32-year-old announced his intention to return to the field with an Instagram video. The video showed all of his highlights from his 2025 season with the Patriots. The caption said, “This is not an opinion-based sport, so here are the numbers. I played 52% of the snaps and finished with 85 catches for 1,045 yards coming off an ACL. Where we going?”
Diggs had a strong season in 2025, playing all 17 games. He had 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and 4 touchdowns, even though he only played in only about 52% of offensive snaps.
Coming from a 2024 season where he suffered a serious ACL injury, he managed to record the most receiving yards among wide receivers for the Patriots. He already has some possible destinations where he can possibly play.

Ahead of the 2026 NFL season, some franchises are interested in the player on a free agency. After his legal hurdle has been cleared, teams will be more interested to approach him. The Washington Commanders could be a likely destination for him, as they are navigating cap space and need a veteran like Diggs.
The Baltimore Ravens are mentioned by many, and he is believed to be a perfect fit for Lamar Jackson. Other franchises include the Los Angeles Rams, the Indianapolis Colts, and a potential Houston Texans reunion. As of now, these are all mere rumors with no strong interest established yet.
