Woman killed in Kroger parking lot crash was aunt of 2 Atlanta Falcons players

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A fatal crash in a Decatur grocery story parking lot on Wednesday afternoon killed 49-year-old Giselle Terrell Perry, the aunt of Atlanta Falcons players A.J. and Avieon Terrell.

Her husband, Laddyan Perry, told Atlanta News First he feels lost without her.

“She was great, gorgeous, everything that’s good,” said Perry.

Giselle was killed Wednesday afternoon at around 3 p.m., while sitting in her parked car waiting for her mom to come out of the Kroger on Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur.

A nearby business owner shared surveillance video of a car speeding through the parking lot and crashing into Perry’s car.

Witnesses told Atlanta News First the speeding car flew through the parking lot at top speed.

“We seen and heard the car coming and two seconds later, boom, a loud bang and all of us ran down there and checked it out and it was horrible,“ said Tony Lackey, who works as a barber nearby and was taking a smoke break when the crash happened.

Lackey said the speeding car flew down South Hairston Road, flew through the red light at Wesley Chapel Road and just kept going.

“It looked like two of the cars had been in an explosion like the car that she hit was t-boned because it was parked right there and brought all the way to the wall,” said Lackey.

Perry’s nephews, A.J. and Avieon Terrell, are brothers and football players for the Atlanta Falcons, and that has brought public attention and support for her.

Her husband said it’s nice to see the support online but he is devastated by this loss.

“She was my wife, my model, my hun. She was everything to me,” said Lackey.

The other driver and a pedestrian were brought to the hospital in serious condition. Dekalb County police said the accident is still under investigation.
