Taylor’s background across multiple systems has allowed him to adapt quickly, a trait that stood out during his first days with the team. His ability to absorb information and transition seamlessly into practice situations has reinforced the idea that he can contribute in more ways than just serving as a backup.

The Packers value professionalism in their quarterback room, and Taylor’s approach has aligned with that standard. His readiness to step into drills and operate with efficiency has created a strong first impression among coaches and teammates alike.

New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor (2) warms up before an NFL Week 10 game between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025.

Getsy recently shared his thoughts about Taylor after the backup quarterback was signed by the franchise. This can be seen in an article posted on the team’s official website.

He’s only been here a couple days, but the cool part when he walked in the room, you could feel the presence, the confidence, the composure. He’s seen a lot. He’s been in a lot of different systems, so (you can see) how quickly he’s able to pick up on things. He showed up when we’re going right to drills and he’s a true pro and it was pretty cool to see. As far as the juice, he’s definitely still got that.

Beyond preparation, there is also confidence in Taylor’s physical capability to perform when needed. Despite his time in the league, he continues to show the mobility and energy required to execute within the offense.

Getsy’s evaluation highlights the importance of experience and leadership at the position. As Green Bay prepares for the season, Taylor’s presence provides stability and depth behind Jordan Love, strengthening the overall structure of the offense.
