The New York Giants got a good haul from the 2026 NFL Draft. New York was able to draft seven rookies in this year's draft class. The crowning jewels from their draft are their two first-round picks: linebacker Arvell Reese and offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa. The two players are expected to bolster this ailing team moving forward.
First, though, the Giants need to figure out their contracts with the two rookies. New York notably announced that they have signed four of their seven rookies to deals. Both Mauigoa and Reese are yet to sign a contract with the team, along with their second-round pick, cornerback Colton Hood.
There shouldn't be too much fuss about the delays in these signings. There have been instances in the past where teams were unable to agree to a deal with their rookies. Usually, these delays are due to some disagreements in the “fine print” of the contract, like certain stipulations and whatnot. Unless a bombshell report comes out in the next few weeks, expect the Giants to sign the three rookies to a contract sooner rather than later.

The Giants are hoping that both Reese and Mauigoa make an impact on their team. Reese fell into their laps at pick number five. Expected to go as early as pick #2 in most drafts, the versatile linebacker brings a lot to the table as a potential pass-rusher or as a coverage linebacker. Reese is just another weapon for the already loaded front seven of New York.
Mauigoa, on the other hand, was selected with the pick that they acquired from the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for long-time DT Dexter Lawrence. One of the two premier tackles in this year's class, Mauigoa will be tasked with protecting quarterback Jaxson Dart and opening up running lanes for either Dart or running back Cam Skattebo.
