The Minnesota Vikings had a disappointing season in 2025, failing to reach the playoffs after going 14-3 the season prior. One of the biggest reasons was the Vikings' inability to stay on the field on offense. On Thursday, the wide receiver room got a big boost, as Minnesota agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings.
The deal is reportedly for one season, with a base salary of $8 million, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. However, the contract could earn Jennings up to $13 million, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The signing of Jennings gives Minnesota arguably the most talented WR room in the NFL. Justin Jefferson is, of course, one of the best in the league. He probably could not play another down in the NFL and would still be a future member of the Hall of Fame.
Jordan Addison has blossomed into one of the better WR2s in the league, despite a down season last year.
But the trio of Jefferson, Addison, and Jennings is hard to compete with.
The newest Viking is coming off another strong season with the San Francisco 49ers. Despite missing the first month of the season, Jennings still caught 55 of 90 targets for 653 yards. He also set a career-high with nine receiving touchdowns.
The 6-foot-3 Jennings is a good route-runner who can make plays both at intermediate and deep levels of the field.

Minnesota is clearly doing everything it can to make life easier on the offense.
The Vikings drafted former Michigan Wolverine J.J. McCarthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He missed his entire rookie season with injury, and last season was a complete disaster.
That prompted the offseason signing of former Arizona Cardinals signal-caller Kyler Murray.
Murray thus far has failed to live up to expectation. But he has never had this level of talent around him, to go with an above-average defense.
Will Minnesota bounce back in 2026? One thing is for sure; there will be no excuses for the offense to flounder again.
