Brittany Mahomes is honored by the award
The wife of the Chiefs quarterback is humbled by it all.
"Such an inspiring morning with United WE celebrating progress and influencing action! It was such an honor to receive the inaugural Champion for Change award in the stadium that represents what it looks like when women's needs are prioritized in sports and in the workplace. No better place to celebrate women than a stadium built for women!" Mahomes wrote.
The Current had a big season last year, finishing as the league's top-ranked team. It ended up winning the National Women's Soccer League Shield.
