Original Story from April 28th
Free-agent wide receiver Jauan Jennings may find his new NFL home this week, as he’s set to visit the Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The visit signals what appears to be the next step in Jennings’ likely departure from the San Francisco 49ers as the team reshapes its receiving corps.

Jauan Jennings, 28, is coming off his fifth season in San Francisco—and the best year of his career. In 2025, he posted career highs across the board, hauling in nine touchdown receptions (which led the 49ers), 643 receiving yards (tops among the team’s wide receivers), and 55 catches.
His reception total trailed only Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle on the roster, underscoring his importance within the offense.
More on WR Jauan Jennings
Despite that breakout campaign, all signs point to Jennings moving on.
San Francisco has aggressively reworked its wide receiver room this offseason, headlined by the addition of All-Pro veteran Mike Evans on a three-year, $42 million deal.
The 49ers also used the No. 33 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to select wideout De’Zhaun Stribling and brought in veteran free agent Christian Kirk on a one-year contract.
With multiple new faces in the mix, Jennings’ role—and future—in San Francisco has become increasingly uncertain, making his departure feel all but inevitable.
Minnesota presents a compelling landing spot. The Vikings are looking to boost an offense that will now be led by new quarterback Kyler Murray, who spent the past seven seasons competing against Jennings and the 49ers in the NFC West while playing for the Arizona Cardinals.
If Jauan Jennings does land in Minnesota, it would mark the end of a quietly productive tenure in San Francisco—and the beginning of a potentially larger role in a new-look Vikings offense.
