Mohamed Salah says the "challenging" environment that Liverpool fostered got the best out of both him and Sadio Mane at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp helping put together an iconic forward line.
The Egyptian will leave Liverpool this summer as the last of the Salah-Firmino-Mane front three to still remain with the Reds, and he has been reflecting on his nine years in the Premier League ahead of his departure, where he has established himself as one of the division's all-time greats.
"I don't know what to say," Salah told Super Sport. "The three of us had a desire to succeed and achieve stuff, and Bobby had a big role in that because he had to drop for us.

"He had to sacrifice himself for us a little bit so that we can play our game. We both, me and Sadio, were driven by scoring goals and challenging each other.
"I think it was healthy for us and it was necessary. Klopp also let us grow and challenge each other, and it was very helpful for the team.
"We knew how to play football and we had the desire. If you have the desire, you can achieve big things. We three had the desire. Bobby just liked to enjoy his football and didn't care too much about the numbers.

"There was a period of time, and I don't want to sound arrogant, but we knew that one of the three was going to score. It was very good for the team and for the club as well."
Salah is expected to return from injury before the season ends, though it remains to be seen if he can play a part against Chelsea this weekend.
"The injury is fine," Salah told Steven Gerrard in an interview last week. "I will definitely [play in the final game of the season] and probably before that, hopefully."
Liverpool finishes the season with matches against Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford, meaning Salah could play a maximum of three more times before he departs.

On the final day of the campaign, he and Andy Robertson, who is also leaving, will be honored. Salah wants Jordan Henderson, who left in 2023 without getting the chance to get a proper goodbye, to be a part of the send-off too.
"I think the last game of the season against Brentford, people in the city know how much it meant to Hendo also," Salah said.
"Being here, captain of the club, for 12 years — more than me, more than Virgil, more than Robbo, more than anyone. He didn't get the send-off or the farewell that he deserved because he left immediately.

"I don't know how the club is going to manage it and I have no plan. I don't know how the supporters will also manage it, but I really wish they do something special for him."
