Bayern Munich has reportedly opened talks with Newcastle over a move to sign Anthony Gordon during this summer's transfer window.
Gordon has been at Newcastle for three and a half seasons and is contracted to the Magpies until 2030, but has been persistently linked with a move away over the last couple of years.
Sky Sports reports that Newcastle will listen to offers for Gordon this summer as the club expects that the player will want to explore his options.
Newcastle and Bayern are said to have a strong relationship, which could smooth over a possible move to Bavaria for Gordon, who Bayern has been keeping tabs on since the turn of the year.

Gordon's agents were also pictured in Barcelona recently but there have been no direct talks between Newcastle and Barcelona over Gordon's future.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was recently asked about Gordon's future at the club, and although he refused to comment on Gordon's case specifically, he did say that he won't select any players that are not completely committed to the club.
"I discuss things with players all the time," Howe said. "I don't necessarily discuss transfer speculation unless I feel it's got to a point that I have to," Howe said.
"After I had the chat with Sandro (Tonali), the biggest thing I look for is the commitment to training because if I see that, the player will perform. That will be the same with Anthony and every player.
"One thing I'm not going to do is play any player if I don't feel they're 100 per cent committed to the club and it's future. I'm not talking about Anthony there, I am talking across the board."

As well as Barcelona and Bayern, Gordon continues to be linked with a summer transfer to Anfield, two years on from the collapse of his dream switch to Merseyside.
Gordon spent the summer of 2024 expecting to complete a return to his home city, as Newcastle looked to raise funds to comply with PSR regulations.
However, the Magpies ended up selling Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh instead, which meant there was no need for them to sell Gordon as well.
Speaking last summer, Gordon admitted it was difficult to refocus on Newcastle after his proposed 2024 transfer to Liverpool fell through.
"It’s true, that was the case (that it was difficult)," Gordon said. "I would never lie. It was difficult for me because one, I had the Euros, which was horrendous for me mentally. I was there, I wasn’t playing.

"Then I had the transfer stuff. With PSR, I thought I was going to leave at some point in the window. It didn’t happen. I had to get my head around that to begin with, and then to get my head around it again was hard."
