Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk could be on the verge of receiving an offer from Turkish club Galatasaray in the summer transfer window.
Turkish publication FotoMac claims the Dutch defender is 'ready to leave' Anfield and may yet follow Mohamed Salah in departing the club on a free transfer when the campaign concludes in what would be a huge blow to Arne Slot.
The unlikely report suggests Van Dijk is evaluating his Liverpool future following the club's underwhelming season. The 34-year-old has 12 months remaining on his current Reds' contract, having signed an extension last term, but is conscious of the club's strategy to recruit younger talent.

The Merseysiders brought in Giovanni Leoni last summer and have secured an agreement with Rennes to sign prospect Jeremy Jacquet, while they're also in discussions to prolong Ibrahima Konate's deal, which runs out this summer.
The report adds Van Dijk has been taken with Galatasaray during his two visits to face the Turkish side in the Champions League this season, with manager Okan Buruk eager to strengthen his defensive options.
Andy Robertson and Salah are amongst the experienced figures poised to depart Anfield on free transfers this summer, and the report claims Van Dijk may do likewise.
They indicate Van Dijk could potentially terminate his contract to join the Turkish Super Lig outfit, mirroring Salah's approach in pursuing alternative opportunities.
However, Van Dijk's recent remarks regarding Liverpool's rebuilding project suggest he is fully committed to the club for the duration of his contract, acknowledging that the Reds had a considerable amount of work to do over the summer.

"It has been ups and downs," Van Dijk said reflecting on this season. "Some wins have felt good. Winning feels good. But we can't build on that and it has been the story of our season. That is what is difficult.
"Just to go up and down in your emotions is never a good thing. When you win, it's happy days. When you lose, it is bad and you are held accountable. You have to take responsibility. It's just life.
"I think it's unacceptable that we have lost too many times as defending champions of the Premier League and we shouldn't accept it whatsoever. There will be a lot of work that has to be done going into next season.
