The Liverpool boss has discussed plans for the summer transfer window.

Arne Slot believes that Liverpool will not have another transitional season in 2026-27 despite more departures imminent.

The Reds claimed the Premier League title in 2024-25 although their defence this time around has been meek. Liverpool are just fourth in the table and have failed to add silverware to the Anfield trophy cabinet.

Despite winning the English championship, Liverpool had a significant squad overhaul, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez departing while Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jermie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Giovanni Leoni departed.

Liverpool are set for exits this summer, with Mo Salah bringing the curtain down on his nine-year Anfield career while vice-captain Andy Robertson will also leave. There is doubt around the futures of players such as Ibrahima Konate, out of contract in June, Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson Becker.

But Slot believes that there will not be as much change as last year while confirming that Kostas Tsimikas - on loan at AS Roma - will return to fill the void of Robertson at left-back. Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Chelsea, head coach Slot said: “I’m only looking forward to it so I have no worry at all.

“I looked forward to working with these players two years ago and one year ago with the players I’m working with now. As a manager, you’re never worried, you just look forward to starting working with a group of players. Indeed, it will be another little transition, probably not as drastic as last summer, but we have to change a bit of personnel because of the players who are leaving. One of them will probably be replaced by Kostas Tsimikas because he’s coming back from a loan.

“I’m only looking forward to starting again next season but my main aim is getting over the line in the upcoming three games then go on holiday with a lot of energy looking forward to next season. Then it will take three, four, five weeks because of the World Cup.”
