Browns rookie Denzel Boston reacts with ‘no way’ to new locker mate

The Cleveland Browns remade their receiver room during the 2026 NFL Draft.

Within 15 picks in Rounds 1 and 2, the Browns added Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion and Washington’s Denzel Boston.

Concepcion and Boston are expected to slot in beside veteran Jerry Jeudy to provide the Browns’ quarterback, whomever they end up choosing, with bona fide weapons.

On Thursday, May 7, a day before Cleveland’s rookie minicamp began, Boston got a preview of his locker at the Browns’ facility.

The team shared his reaction on X. It included the realization about which Browns legend has a locker next to his.

“No way! Nah, nah because the homies are about to freak out when I tell them this. What?” Boston said as he snapped a photo of his locker.

‘Really next to the GOAT’

So who is his new locker mate? It’s none other than defensive end Myles Garrett, who set the NFL sack record last season.

“I’m really next to the GOAT, all-time sack record,” Boston said. “That’s crazy. … I’m going to have to move my chair over, give him some space, you know what I mean?”

Sporting a hoodie featuring Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan smoking a victory cigar, Boston checked out his own locker. He will wear No. 12 with the Browns, the same number he wore with the Huskies.

Garrett, the reigning AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, is a nine-year veteran with the Browns. The five-time first-team All-Pro has 125.5 career sacks, including the record 23 sacks he recorded in 2025.

Boston played four seasons at Washington, enjoying almost identical seasons in 2024 and 2025. He caught 63 passes for 834 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024, then followed it up with 62 receptions for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Boston also returned punts for the Huskies, scoring a touchdown in 2025.

The Browns’ rookies will take the field Friday through Sunday in Berea, Ohio. The full team will convene for offseason OTAs in May and June before mandatory minicamp June 9-11.
