As new head coach Mike LaFleur builds out his vision of the Arizona Cardinals, third-rounder Carson Beck is looking to prove he can be the quarterback of the future. He is at least entering the offseason program ready to get to work.
Beck was forced to undergo serious elbow surgery back in 2024. Now, he says his arm is, ‘the strongest it has ever been.' The quarterback says he is fully past his injury and focusing solely on his work with the Cardinals, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.
“Again, my arm feels great,” Beck said. “It has for a while now, but I think really being able to hone in and have an offseason to train and focus on it compared to the year before where I have the surgery, I'm rehabbing, I'm trying to learn a new offense, you're really not able to focus on those kind of like small, minute details.”
“I think that has really helped being able to have this offseason,” he concluded.

Beck will be coming to the Cardinals will two veterans in front of him in Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. That'll make it difficult for him to earn starts, especially in the beginning of the season. But if Beck impresses during training camp, perhaps he gets in LaFleur's graces sooner than expected.
After spending five years at Georgia, and winning two national championships, the quarterback transferred to Miami in 2025. There, he completed an ACC-leading 72.4 percent of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He was named Third-team All-ACC.
Arizona will be paying close attention to Beck throughout the offseason. Now healthy, the quarterback is ready to perform for his new team.
