“Already a Surefire Bet for Canton”: PFF Analyst Believes That Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick…

The Kansas City Chiefs missed the playoffs last season for the first time during the Patrick Mahomes era. Kansas City finished with a 6-11 record. The Chiefs did not have Mahomes during the final few weeks of the season because of a torn ACL. It will be interesting to see if Mahomes is going to be ready for the first week of the regular season or not.

Even if he decided to never play football ever again, there would be a solid chance for him to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame no doubt. Mahomes is 30 years old and probably has some good years ahead of him depending on how he recovers from the torn ACL injury here.

Profootballfocus.com writer Bradley Locker wrote about which current NFL players will potentially be in the hall of fame in the future or not. He thinks that Mahomes can retire today and would be a lock for the hall of fame. Locker said,

“Some might view this as a bit precocious for Mahomes, who’s still only 30. But his resume — two-time MVP, three-time champion, Offensive Player of the Year and three-time All-Pro — is already otherworldly.

Simply put, Mahomes has been, at worst, the NFL’s second-best quarterback since 2018. In fact, there’s a good case he’s No. 1: ByPFF Wins Above Replacement, Mahomes (25.93) leads all players and is ahead ofTom Brady(19.35).

Mahomes has much left to accomplish in his storied career, and it’s not impossible for him to dethrone Brady in “Greatest of All Time” discussions. But even if Mahomes never made another All-Pro or even retired, he’s already a surefire bet for Canton.”

In his career at this point, he has completed 66.2% of his passes for 35,939 yards, 267 touchdowns, and 85 interceptions. If Mahomes is healthy all season, there is a chance that he could get to 40,000 career passing yards and over 300 touchdown passes in his career. That would be another potential MVP season for his hall of fame resume. He also has won three Super Bowl titles in his career already. Hopefully the injuries for Mahomes doesn’t show regression throughout the rest of his career though.
