Chelsea are still trying to compete with the big boys for signings in the upcoming transfer market, and actually have some Bayern Munich sources afraid they could beat them to their top target.
The woeful season at Stamford Bridge looks set to leave them without any form of European football, and make it harder to attract big names in the transfer window.
Chelsea were able to bring in Joao Pedro last season by being able to promise him Champions League action, something other interested clubs were not able to provide.

Bayern Munich sources scared Chelsea will beat them to Anthony Gordon
The shoe is on the other foot now, and makes things more difficult for the Blues when it comes to transfer targets such as Anthony Gordon.
The Newcastle winger reportedly wants out this summer, and Chelsea have already held talks with Gordon over a potential signing, with his Premier League experience a key factor behind the interest.

While Bayern are seen as the favourites to complete the deal, insider Christian Falk is nervous that Chelsea have the resources to beat them to the signing, with Nicolas Jackson playing a key role.
He said to Bayern Insider: “So it’s getting interesting to see who’s joining the poker table. I’m personally more afraid of Chelsea, as they have the resources to make a deal happen.
“Not to mention, they could use Nicolas Jackson as a makeweight in a potential swap deal (and we know Newcastle are interested in the Senegal international).”
Jackson is set to return to Stamford bridge this summer after he has struggled for regular minutes in the star-studded frontline at Bayern.

Jackson not set for Chelsea revival
Throughout the season, Chelsea fans have called for Jackson to be reintegrated into the first team squad after underwhelming performances from Liam Delap.
However, at this stage the Blues have no interest in bringing Jackson back into the fold after two decent seasons in West London.
There is plenty of interest in the Senegal international, not least from the aforementioned Newcastle as they prepare for a season outside of European football too.
Reports have stated that they may be more interested in bringing in Delap if the opportunity arises, after holding a prior interest in him too.
