Liverpool have complied a shortlist of five goalkeepers they believe are capable of replacing Alisson, who is nearing a move to Juventus.

Alisson has been Liverpool’s regular goalkeeper for almost all of his eight-year spell at Anfield, yet his era appears to be drawing to a close. The Brazilian has agreed a three-year deal with Juventus worth a total of €15 million, and he will leave for the Serie A side if they can reach and agreement with the Premier League champions over a transfer fee.

Arne Slot’s side seem to be preparing for a sale, having drawn up a list of four realistic signings and one internal solution to solve the potential trouble, according to ESPN (via Yahoo).

Liverpool eye four new faces

Liverpool believe that they could benefit from Lucas Chevalier’s troubles at PSG by signing the former Lille keeper. After a difficult start at Parc des Princes, Chevalier has been moved out of the team to make way for Matey Safanov and could well be on his way out of the club this summer.

Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, meanwhile, is touted as another possible solution. The World Cup winner has long been linked with a move away from Unai Emery’s side, and the possibility of a switch to Liverpool could be tempting for a keeper who failed to make a breakthrough at Arsenal.

Otherwise, the Reds are looking at two up-and-coming options in the Premier League, with Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen and Bournemouth’s Djordje Petrovic both on the Merserysiders’ shortlist.

Giorgi Mamardashvili: The obvious solution?

The easiest solution that Liverpool could turn towards is Giorgi Mamardashvili, who has played as Alisson’s backup this season. Despite only being second choice behind the veteran Brazilian, he has featured on 18 occasions.

Liverpool signed Mamardashvili from Valencia in 2024 for €30m to be the heir for Alisson, yet there are still some questions over whether the 25-year-old Georgia international is ready to make the step up. He has conceded 29 times in 1532 minutes while he posts just three clean sheets cross all competitions, albeit one of those was against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

According to SciSports, the goalkeeping area is one of Liverpool's weaknesses currently, with none of their senior options ranking among the club’s top players. According to the analysis of the data analytics firm, Alisson is their top option but comes in only 15th in Arne Slot’s squad.

Selling Alisson, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €14.9m, to Juventus could therefore mean that Liverpool have to go into the market for a new keeper – but it may be that they would have had to do that anyway given SciSports’ brutal analysis.
