BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns were able to see their newest draft class on the field in a Browns uniform on Friday for the first time. The Browns welcomed 10 drafted players, 12 undrafted rookie free agents and a number of first year players from last season, as well as players invited in for a tryout for the start of the three day rookie minicamp.

A total of 53 players were on the field, including 25 players that were invited in for a tryout.

After the rookie minicamp, Phase II of the offseason program begins next week. For the rookies, there will be 10 organized team activities practices beginning May 19, and mandatory minicamp June 9-11. The rookie minicamp is an orientation for the rookies to know how practices are run and what is expected of them when training camp begins in late July.

One of the rookies to suit up for the first time was top pick Spencer Fano, who was the first of two first draft choices the Browns had in the 2026 NFL Draft. Fano was taken with the No. 9 overall pick, after the Browns traded down three spots with the Chiefs.

Todd Monken said Fano he looked 'fine' and looked the part every bit as much as the Browns thought he would.

"I mean everything was fine," he said. "I'll have a better idea once we watch the tape, but you can certainly see his diligence. I didn't I didn't see anything that would have made me think any different of him as a player."

Fano (6-6, 315) was on the field and practiced at left tackle. Fano played left tackle as a freshman at Utah, but spent the last two seasons at right tackle for the Utes.

Fano spoke to the media after his first practice for the first time and brought his brother, Logan, with him to the podium. They both spoke on how 'cool' it is to be together. Both players lined up across from each other on several occasions with Spencer at left tackle and Logan at right defensive end.

"Different, just a little different, but, yeah, it feels good to be out with my brother," Logan Fano said.

Spencer Fano said it was similar to practicing in college, but with one big difference.
