The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have American defensive lineman Mitchell Agude, the team announced on Friday.
The six-foot-four, 262-pound defender spent three seasons in the NFL as a member of the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. He played four regular-season games with the Lions in 2024, recording three total tackles and one forced fumble.
According to Spotrac, Agude earned over $600,000 USD during his time in the NFL.
The 27-year-old was selected by the Houston Gamblers in the 2026 UFL Draft, though he didn’t see any regular-season action with the team.
The native of Corona, Calif. finished his collegiate career at the University of Miami, where he made 39 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, and four sacks. He was previously named second-team All-Pac 12 at UCLA.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats recently selected Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Jonathan Denis with their first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, adding depth up front. The team’s other major offseason additions include quarterback Tre Ford, receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr., and linebacker Wynton McManis.
All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Hamilton will play its first preseason game against the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday, May 23 and its first regular-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday, June 4.
In 2025, Hamilton finished first in the East Division standings with an 11-7 record, though the team lost the East Final to the Montreal Alouettes.
