Tyreek Hill is navigating one of the most complicated periods of his NFL career. The eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is rehabbing a torn ACL. He is hunting for a new team after the Miami Dolphins released him.
Meanwhile, his divorce case grows more damaging by the week. His estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro, has escalated the legal battle. She is moving to obtain NFL investigation records tied to a 2019 child injury case that nearly derailed Hill’s Chiefs career.

Vaccaro filed for divorce in April 2025, one day after police responded to a domestic dispute at the couple’s Miami-area condominium. The two married on November 8, 2023, and share one daughter. As the proceedings push forward, Vaccaro is using the divorce action to reach further back into Hill’s record, according to a new TMZ report.
Through court subpoenas, Vaccaro is requesting records linked to several past investigations, including a child abuse investigation in Oakland Park, records from the Stillwater Police Department regarding Crystal Espinal, and the NFL’s own files from its 2019 review of a child injury case. Her legal filings reportedly state that the subpoenas seek evidence of “other crimes, wrongs or acts committed” by Hill and certified copies of his grandparents’ criminal records.
The 2019 case involved Hill’s then-three-year-old son, who was found with a broken arm. Investigators closed the case at first, but it was later reopened. In June 2019, Hill sat with NFL investigators for eight hours, as the league conducted its own review. The Kansas Department of Children and Families had briefly barred him from the Chiefs’ training facilities during the probe. Hill faced no criminal charges, and the NFL did not suspend him.
The divorce filings have made a long list of allegations against Hill public. Vaccaro has detailed eight separate incidents of domestic violence during their marriage. She claims the first episode occurred just two months after the wedding. A dispute over a post-nuptial agreement left her with injuries. In one of the more serious claims, she alleges Hill punched her while she was pregnant with their daughter. Hill’s attorney Julius B. Collins has called the accusations false and part of a “smear campaign” to extract an unwarranted settlement. Hill has maintained that any physical incidents occurred in self-defense.
Keeta Vaccaro claims nanny cam footage shows Hill acting aggressively
Vaccaro’s claims extend beyond the police records she is seeking. She has alleged that nanny cam footage exists capturing Hill acting aggressively toward both her and her mother. According to her filings, one of Hill’s former teams allegedly attempted to purchase that footage for hundreds of thousands of dollars. The NFL currently has an active Personal Conduct Policy investigation open against Hill related to Vaccaro’s domestic violence allegations, which adds weight to the legal pressures he carries into free agency.
The proceedings have also brought Hill’s earlier legal record back into focus. In 2014, he pleaded guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation involving his then-pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Espinal. That case was one of several reasons the Chiefs considered cutting him before allowing him to remain on the roster under strict conditions. Hill went on to win a Super Bowl with Kansas City in 2020 before joining Miami in 2022.
Hill is also fighting a civil lawsuit from Sophie Hall, who alleges Hill fractured her leg during a backyard football drill in 2023. Hall claims Hill became angry after she knocked him off balance and charged at her with enough force to break her right leg, requiring surgery and hardware implantation. Hill’s legal team disputes that version entirely.
Hill now enters free agency as one of the most scrutinized players in the league. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has insisted teams should still view him as one of the most dynamic playmakers in NFL history. With a torn ACL, an open NFL conduct investigation, a contentious divorce and subpoenas reopening the 2019 child injury case, any team signing Hill must carefully weigh the risks.
