McCarthy missed all of his rookie season after tearing his meniscus in his first preseason game and the 2025 season was filled with inconsistent performances and nagging injuries. Murray has also had injury problems during his career with the Cardinals, but he is a spectacular athlete when healthy.

This could be a crucial season for Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell. The Vikings are coming off a 9-8 season in 2025, but they started the year with a 4-8 record and fell out of playoff contention. They were 14-3 the season before and finished with the second-best record in the NFC.
