When will full NFL schedule, international games be released?

The NFL is entering unprecedented territory during the 2026-27 season, as it gets set to broadcast nine international games across four continents. It is already known that the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will face off in Australia's Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sept. 11, and the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys will duke it out in Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium on Sept. 27. But when will fans find out the other seven matchups?

They will not have to wait long. The league will announce the rest of the international slate on NFL Network's “Good Morning Football” on Wednesday, May 13, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The public knows some of the teams that will be competing outside of the United States, so the NFL just has to fill in the blanks. The New Orleans Saints will fittingly take part in the first-ever regular season game in Paris, France. Second-year quarterback Tyler Shough could truly make a name for himself if he shines in The City of Light.

Additionally, the Detroit Lions will play a presently unknown opponent in Munich, Germany and the Atlanta Falcons will take the field in Madrid, Spain. The 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars will each play multiple international games, with the former heading to Mexico City at some point after their Melbourne clash, and the latter occupying its annual spot in London. The Washington Commanders will also play in England.

The time difference requires an adjustment for fans watching in the U.S., but the respective venues should be lively as usual. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has made it his mission to expand the sport's global reach, so he is surely reveling in this record-breaking development.

A day after these nine matchups are officially unveiled, the NFL will release its entire schedule.
