Broncos draft picks issued their numbers for rookie minicamp

The Broncos weren’t going to be able to give running back Jonah Coleman the number he wore at Washington; jersey No. 1 belongs to Evan Engram. His number from Arizona is out of the mix, too; that’s in the possession of Wil Lutz, the placekicker who signed a contract extension last November.

For now, he’ll wear jersey No. 20.

The Broncos announced the jersey numbers for their rookies on Friday as rookie minicamp began. Those numbers may not be permanent, of course; last year, we saw first-round pick Jahdae Barron change from No. 12 to 23, while second-rounder RJ Harvey switched from 37 to 12.

But for now, these are the numbers that Denver’s draft picks will wear:

DL Tyler Onyedim: No. 98

RB Jonah Coleman: No. 20

OL Kage Casey: No. 78

TE Justin Joly: No. 80

S Miles Scott: No. 39

TE Dallen Bentley: No. 89

LB Red Murdock: No. 50
