But the mood around Anfield has been anything but easy.
Last Sunday at Old Trafford, Liverpool fell 3-2 to Manchester United in a damaging defeat that completed a league double for their rivals, the first time United had managed that since 2016.

Reports have emerged that Slot is reviewing his backroom staff ahead of next season, though significantly, this planning is framed as coming only “in the event of him staying” — wording that has caused some alarm among supporters given the growing criticism following the United result.
The timing of those reports has naturally fed wider conversation about who might come into the Liverpool setup, and whether familiar faces could be invited back through the doors at the AXA Training Centre.
Which brings us to this week’s headline-grabbing appearance.
Jamie Redknapp — Liverpool captain, club legend, and one of the most recognisable figures from the Anfield history books — was spotted back at Melwood’s successor facility in full Liverpool kit.
Tongues began to wag.
The timing, given the backroom staff noise, seemed almost too convenient.
Was this a precursor to something more official?
As it turns out, no.
The former midfielder was at the training ground for a far more straightforward, and frankly more enjoyable reason.
Redknapp visited Liverpool’s training centre to partake in Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick masterclass, producing media content for the club’s channels.
The Hungarian midfielder put on an exhibition of his set-piece craft, with Redknapp watching, interviewing, and — by his own admission — loving every moment of it.
“So good to get the Liverpool kit back on, even if only just to watch a free-kick masterclass from Dominik Szoboszlai,”
Redknapp wrote on Instagram.
“Really enjoyed the interview too, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.”
