Enzo Fernandez has been awarded Chelsea's goal against Liverpool
The Premier League has officially awarded Chelsea’s equalizing goal against Liverpool to Enzo Fernandez following confusion over who got the final touch.
Fernandez delivered a dangerous deep free-kick that ultimately ended up in the back of the Liverpool net after a chaotic sequence inside the box. The midfielder whipped the set-piece into a crowded area where it appeared Wesley Fofana may have got the final touch to divert the ball into the bottom corner.
There was immediate uncertainty over whether Fofana made contact, with replays offering no definitive answer. Fernandez, however, was quick to celebrate and initially laid claim to the goal as officials assessed the final touch.
