Ryan Gravenberch has responded to boos heard at Anfield, claiming Liverpool “don’t really deserve this” after drawing 1-1 with Chelsea.
There were boos at Anfield on two occasions as Chelsea ended their six-game Premier League losing streak with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
Having voiced their displeasure at Rio Ngumoha being substituted – Arne Slot has now cleared up that this was due to muscle problems – more Liverpool fans booed at full time.
Gravenberch, who had got Liverpool off to a great start with a goal inside six minutes, was asked about the crowd’s reaction on TNT Sports.
"He's fantastic, I hope he can keep going like this"

“To be honest, we need them behind us,” the Dutch 23-year-old said.
“I think what they do is, yeah OK we don’t win, but I think we don’t really deserve this you know.
“I think fans have to be behind us like 90 minutes, because I think it was second half, when they went behind us, we pressed them really [well].
“So hopefully in the next few games they won’t do the same (boo).”
It would be fair to say that Gravenberch could do with taking a step back before talking about the boos.
For a start, most would say the boos weren’t aimed at the players and more at the general passive approach being implemented by Slot.
Ryan Gravenberch loves Rio Ngumoha: “He’s fantastic!”

Before he was taken off due to cramp, Ngumoha was Liverpool’s bright spark in attack.
While he didn’t score against Chelsea, he provided the arbitrary assist for Gravenberch’s excellent opening goal.
The goalscorer commented: “He’s really good. He’s only 17 years old and you see how he plays.
“Every time when he gets the ball, he wants to take the one-v-one and yeah, he’s just fantastic. I hope he can keep going like this.”

Asked if he was disappointed with the draw, Gravenberch added: “Yeah, of course because we have to share the points. We wanted the three points but obviously they are a good team.
“They did very well here so I think at the end they deserve the point as well.
“I think it was not a great season from us. We have still two games left so we have to try to win these games and secure the Champions League spot.”
Liverpool need one win from their final two matches to guarantee a top-five finish, though they may only end up requiring a point if results elsewhere go their way.
