Ibrahima Konate was forced off in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League.

Arne Slot has provided an injury update on Ibrahima Konate after Liverpool’s draw against Chelsea.

The Reds failed to secure Champions League qualification as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by the ailing London outfit at Anfield.

Liverpool did not deserve more than a share of the spoils but were without Mo Salah and Florian Wirtz, while Alexander Isak could only make the bench after a groin injury.

In addition, the Reds saw Ibrahima Konate limp off in the closing stages with cramp. Liverpool have a quick turnaround when they face Aston Villa on Friday - and Konate must be assessed along with Wirtz. Salah and Alisson could return at Villa Park.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Slot said: “Konate, we always have to wait and see. The way he limped off, he told me it was cramp. Let’s hope he is right in his assessment. We have to wait and see tomorrow how he feels and how it works out. Mo is close to returning, Ali is close to returning. Flo, we have to wait and see how he is recovering from what he has.”
