Slot drops transfer hint about 'the summer that we are planning to have'

**Arne Slot claims that he will have no issues in restoring supporters’ faith in his abilities to lead Liverpool after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Chelsea.**

Ryan Gravenberch scored a fantastic first half goal to make it 1-0 to Liverpool, but the lead quickly evaporated thanks to an Enzo Fernandez goal.

After that, Liverpool struggled to control the game and were outrun by Chelsea – a team that has covered the fewest kilometres in the Premier League this season.

Not for the first time this season, the Reds were rudderless against the Blues, casting more uncertainty over Slot’s future as Liverpool manager.

Arne Slot asked if he has ‘full confidence’ he can restore supporter belief

After the game, Slot spoke to the press and was asked if he ‘has full confidence’ that he can restore the faith that supporters have lost in his managerial abilities.

Slot replied: _“Yes, I do. Not this season, by the way. This season they will have their opinion and it will not change. But if we can have the summer that we are planning to have, then I’m 100 per cent convinced that we will be a different team next season than we are now._

_“Different in terms of results, different in how things look, but it’s not always that simple because sometimes you know what you have to do, but it’s not always possible to also get exactly what you want. For us, for me, it’s really clear what we are lacking this season and we’re trying with the players we have now because one of the things we are lacking is players that are fit._

_“But the players we have available now, I think again like last week, like this week, showed in the second half that they want to give everything and tried to push, but it was not enough last week and wasn’t enough this week to find that goal, which we maybe deserved if you looked at where the game was played. Because, for me, the game was mainly played in the second half in their half and that is what we’ve seen a lot of times this season, but we’ve also seen a lot of times this season that being the dominant team doesn’t lead to chance after chance after chance.”_

It’s going to take a drastic turn of events for fans to believe in Slot again

Liverpool have certainly been unlucky with injuries and certain big decisions have gone against them, but that alone will not overturn the worrying state of affairs at Anfield.

Boos at Anfield are not common and it takes a lot for the Kop to turn on a manager.

The manager says that Liverpool have big plans for the summer, and it’s true that there are certain profiles missing from the squad at the moment.

Yet, that’s a difficult comment to make peace with after he was handed a £460m transfer kitty last summer.

Is spending more money really going to overturn this worrying situation? I’m not convinced.

Time will tell, but unfortunately there is very little about this season that suggests things can be turned around over the summer.
